My HS students and I tested the Google Expeditions Virtual Reality cardboard headsets during one of our painting classes. It was an awesome experience.
Big 7 is a 3 ft paper mach? sculpture on wheels designed by Wendy Leigh Curtis based on a paper toy designed by Jason Harlan. She recently moved to Harlem and is in the process of getting to know her community by asking people what they think art and community is.
My high school students and I created found wood paintings inspired by the history of West Harlem, food, gardening, or green technology. With the help of a Lowe’s Toolbox Grant, we installed over 100 paintings and 2 student made benches at General Ulysses S. Grant Community Garden.

At Inwood Academy for Leadership HS myself, two colleagues, and many students collaborated to create an old style arcade game using Raspberry Pi technology. We hope to get this project funded so that we can eventually sell the “Artcades” as well as give HS students an audience for testing their games. Imagine student created games for Regents Test Prep!
